The culprit of an accident in Simferopol did not admit his guilt in court, but he “earned” his sentence

In Simferopol, a verdict was passed in a criminal case regarding a traffic accident in which a motorcyclist was injured.
It was established that on September 18, 2023, the defendant, driving a VAZ 211010 car, moving along Pobeda Avenue in the city of Simferopol, crossing the roadway through a solid line of road markings, collided with a Motoland XV 250 motorcycle driven by a 42-year-old man. The driver left the scene of the traffic accident— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The defendant did not admit guilt in the incriminated act. However, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the defendant was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for 3 years. The main punishment of imprisonment was replaced by forced labor for a period of 2 years and 6 months. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
