Commentary of the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov in connection with the day of memory of the victims of deportation from the Crimea of Armenians, Bulgarians, Greeks.
Today is a mournful date. On June 24, 1944, our fellow countrymen — Crimean Armenians, Bulgarians and Greeks were deported from the territory of the peninsula.
The memory of this tragedy unites Crimeans of all nationalities. This is our common pain.
The presidential decree “On measures for the rehabilitation of the Armenian, Bulgarian, Greek, Italian, Crimean-Tatar, German peoples and state support for their revival and development” is based on the principles of justice, equality and concern for people. This is the foundation on which the national policy of Russia is being built.
As part of the execution of the Decree, large -scale programs are implemented aimed at comprehensive support for rehabilitated peoples.
Crimea is a home for representatives of different nationalities. Mutual understanding and respect for each other, to culture, customs and traditions of all peoples — the key to the prosperity and development of our republic— says in the commentary of the head of Crimea.
