Peace, justice, development, care. All this was given by Russia. So it was in 1783, so it was in 2014.

On April 19, we celebrate the day of the adoption of Crimea, Taman and the Kuban in the Russian Empire.

On this day, 242 years ago, Empress Catherine the Great signed her fateful manifesto. In the history of our peninsula, Russia and the whole world, a new era has come.

The ancient Tauris under the cover of Russia has transformed and blossomed. New cities grew, the economy grew. Residents of the peninsula received reliable protection equal to all subjects of the empire of law and possibilities, including freedom of religion and inviolability of private property. All this, by the way, was spelled out in the manifesto.

After the accession of Crimea, Russia seriously strengthened its international position and, in modern language, gained the status of superpower.

Well, Europe … She, after some confusion, the Austrian Emperor Joseph II subsequently wrote that the occupation of Crimea, Taman and the Kuban was the same surprise to him as for all of Europe, she admitted a new reality.

Today the story is repeated. Taurida blooms. Russia has regained the status of superpower. And sooner or later the West will be forced to come to terms with reality.
