The Day of the Baptism of Rus' — on July 28, a new thematic tour has been prepared for guests of Tauric Chersonesos

On the Day of the Baptism of Rus’ from 10:00 to 19:00, the museum-reserve invites everyone to folk festivals! On July 28 at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00, with the support of the My History Foundation, guests will also be offered thematic tours «The Legend of the Baptism of Rus'» in the Garden of Miniatures.

They will tell in a multimedia format about the Rurik dynasty, about the events of 988, about the wedding of Prince Vladimir with the Byzantine princess Anna and about his adoption of Christianity. Visitors will learn about the reasons that brought the ruler to Chersonesos ‒ Kherson ‒ Korsun, about the siege of the city by the Russian army, about the baptism of the son of Svyatoslav and his squad here, and about the subsequent Baptism of Rus’. At the end of the tour, the guests will have a master class in painting «A story that inspires»! Under the guidance of an experienced teacher, they will draw an unusual vessel — kanfar — and learn that the cup in Christian art was a symbol of communion. Painting class will be held in the Garden of Miniatures— reported in the press service of the museum-reserve «Tauric Chersonesos».
