CrimeaPRESS reports:
Crimean Federal University named after. V.I. Vernadsky was one of the first among Russian universities to open the Department of Foundations of Russian Statehood. The prospects for the development of the new department in the context of higher education reforms were discussed at a round table meeting with the participation of the leadership of KFU, teachers of the discipline “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood”, graduate students, as well as a representative of the “DNA of Russia” project team Sergei Belokonev.
Crimean Federal University is one of the leaders among universities in the South of Russia implementing this program; and the first university in which the Department of Foundations of Russian Statehood was created. This is a unique experience. We expect active reflection on the experience of teaching this course. Today we discussed the methodological problems that exist, and we hope that they will be seriously worked out in the future, including within the framework of the planned all-Russian conference, which will allow the exchange of experience with other regions— the press service of the university quotes Sergei Belokonev, director of the Institute of Global Studies of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, expert of the Russian State Council Commission on Science.
The All-Russian conference, at which the first results of the department’s work will be presented, will be held in June.
The deputy vice-rector for educational and methodological activities of KFU named after KFU was elected head of the department. V.I. Vernadsky Tatyana Gogunskaya, who oversees the humanitarian component of training students at the university.
The mission of the new department is to expand the ideological, humanitarian and educational component of the academic training of students in higher education programs at the university. Our goal is to form, on the basis of the department, a scientific and methodological center for coordinating the teaching of the entire block of social and humanitarian disciplines in higher education programs, both in terms of content and in terms of methodology and organization of the educational process, as well as in forms of interaction with students as part of extracurricular activitiesnotes Tatyana Gogunskaya.
Let us remind you that the course “Fundamentals of Russian Statehood” started in the current academic year in all universities of the country. The new subject requires students to consistently master knowledge about the development of Russian civilization and its statehood in historical retrospect and modern conditions.
