The Diamond Heart team from Sevastopol is a participant in the qualifying tournament for the Battle of Robots finals
CrimeaPRESS reports:
24 teams from Russia, Kazakhstan, India and Turkey and more than 2000 spectators gathered at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center for a world-class show. In total, more than 190 applications were received for the championship, from which the best were selected. The atmosphere of “Robot Battle” is extraordinary. The main thing that participation gave us was experience that can be transferred to the region for children, involving them in engineering technologies through holding regional robot battles and creating a children’s league,” shared Maxim Vinogradov, a member of the “Diamond Heart” teams and the head of the Sevastopol station for young technicians. “Robot Battle” is a competition where the best design minds in the world of robotics collide. The show was as intense as the best boxing matches. The cars fought in the ring down to the last detail.
The robot battle is an incredible competition in scale and entertainment. On the site before entering the ring, there was an atmosphere of friendship and mutual assistance. Just once you plunge into this extravaganza of engineering art, you realize that it is forever! — the captain of the “Diamond Heart” team Sergei Zuev shared his emotions.
Sevastopol participated in such competitions for the first time. It was a completely new experience for the team. The composition included not engineers, but teachers from the digital education center “IT-cube.” Gagarin» Sergei Zuev, Daria Medvedeva and Sergei Gulko, teacher of the children’s technology park «Quantorium» Evgeniy Malykhin, director of the Sevastopol station for young technicians Maxim Vinogradov, and the youngest participant in the battle — student «IT-cube. Gagarin» Vladimir Nekhoroshev.
I was a weapons pilot during the battle. I pressed certain buttons at the right time to use the tools, and also to restart the robot if it stopped,” Vladimir Nekhoroshev spoke about his task.
Emergency additional purchase of parts, modification of the design right on the site, sparks and short circuits — all this accompanied the team for three intense days. The residents of Sevastopol walked towards their goal, and the robot entered the ring.
We found ourselves in such a technical community that it made us happy just to be in this atmosphere. Everyone is very sociable, no one hides anything, you can approach any robot, touch it, see who has done what and how. Everyone communicates and shares secrets about all stages of assembling and designing the robotsaid teacher Daria Medvedeva.
The battle was lost, but the Sevastopol team gained invaluable experience, announced the Sevastopol station for young technicians throughout the country, and has no plans to stop.
