I try to attend all the significant events at the 35th battery. For me, this is a place of power. The place of our history. And of course, the tour, which Valery Ivanovich himself conducts, touches to the core. The museum historical and memorial complex «35th Coastal Battery» is known throughout the country — this is the merit of Alexei Mikhailovich Chaly and the museum team, which has been headed by Valery Ivanovich Volodin for 15 years— quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev.

People arrive from Moscow and say we are going to you specially or just yesterday from Vorkuta. It would seem, where is Vorkuta, where is Sevastopol? They come and say that they need to come to us, they want to know and understand one of the pages of our history — the defense of Sevastopol. The work is creative, the team is creative, so even if you don’t want to, they will make you work, if you don’t want to think, they make you think. And all together we understand that this is an important matter, we see the reaction of people, we see the tears of people, we understand that we are neededValery Volodin notes.

Valery Volodin in 2018 became a confidant of Vladimir Putin. He took part in the meeting of the President of the Russian Federation with representatives of the public of Crimea and Sevastopol in 2020.
