Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing the status of a large family. Relevant document published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

A large family in the Russian Federation is a family with three or more children, the status of which is established indefinitelysays the documentze.

In Russia, before this there was no unified approach to determining the status of a large family; it was not enshrined in law. Note that regions could independently determine the criteria for large families. Now regions will have the right to expand the category of large families, taking into account the demographic, cultural and national characteristics of the subject.

Large families are guaranteed benefits and payments in connection with the birth and upbringing of children, provision of support measures in the field of labor relations and early assignment of old-age insurance pensions to women.

The head of state instructed to establish a single sample of a certificate confirming the status of a large family and ensure the maintenance of a data bank. This is necessary to record information about the social support measures provided. In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation has been instructed to monitor the socio-economic situation of large families and the provision of social support to them by constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
