«The doors were open!» — Passed by the house under construction and robbed it … The incident in the Simferopol district

Employees of the criminal investigation department promptly identified the alleged criminal. It turned out to be a 42-year-old previously convicted resident of the capital of Crimea.

The investigation showed that the attacker assisted his friend in cleaning the territory adjacent to the house and, during the next trip for water, drew attention to the open door of one of the neighboring houses. Entering inside, the man discovered unattended household items, such as a water heater and a heating device. Taking advantage of the situation, the man stole the indicated property and took him to his home for further personal use.

The investigator of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Simferopol district opened a criminal case on the grounds of the corpus delicti under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code (theft). The sanction of the article provides for the maximum punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to five years.

The suspect was chosen by a preventive measure in the form of a non -departure subscription and proper behavior.

The Crimean police recalls the need to comply with simple precautions before a long departure from the house. These tips will help save your property in security and avoid unpleasant situations.

Before leaving housing for a long time:

• Close all windows and balcony doors.
• Check the serviceability of all locks of the entrance doors and window frames.
• If possible, connect to the video surveillance system or alarm, install the motion sensors.
• Tell your neighbors or loved ones about your absence, asking to look after your housing.
