The draft budget of the Republic for 2024-2026 is being discussed in Crimea

The Ministry of Finance of Crimea held a public discussion on the draft budget of the Republic of Crimea for 2024 and for the planning period of 2025 and 2026. This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea — Minister of Finance of the Republic of Crimea Irina Kiviko. As the Deputy Prime Minister said, the discussion took place in the public domain at a forum organized by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Crimea on the portal “Open Budget of the Republic of Crimea” from November 13 to 17.
Residents of the republic, representatives of state authorities and local self-government, teaching staff of Crimean universities, students, as well as members of the Board and Public Council under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Crimea took part in the discussion.
A record number of citizens visited the forum pages – 4025 views. 388 Crimeans got acquainted with the documents and materials presented at the forum. Of these, 74 people took a direct part in the discussion of the draft budget, including 40 questions asked, 37 positive reviews and 6 recommendations given,” the press service quotes Irina Kiviko.
The deputy chairman emphasized that the Crimeans, among other things, proposed increasing the budget for the State Program of the Republic of Crimea “Development of the industrial complex to stimulate the development of regional production and returning to the practice of stimulating the development of the industrial complex of the republic. The participants recommended that the implementers of the Program for Improving Public Finance of the Republic of Crimea effectively approach its implementation in order to achieve a significant budgetary effect in order to fill the region’s revenue base, and also consider the possibility of applying in the republic the practice of the country’s regions in terms of providing the budgets of municipalities with uniform standards for deductions from the tax on professional income and transport tax to strengthen the revenue side of local budgets.
The chief financier reported that out of 40 questions asked, 28% related to clarifying upcoming budget expenditures by industry, 23% — discussing the main characteristics of the upcoming budget, 20% — discussing social issues, 12% — developing proactive budgeting in the republic. In addition, forum participants were interested in issues of taxation and tax benefits (10%) and organizing work to improve the financial literacy of Crimeans (5%). All questions were answered comprehensively by financial department specialists.
