The electoral system of Sevastopol will have an official holiday
Krympress reports:
On April 15, 2025, at the plenary meeting of the Legislative Assembly of the city of Sevastopol of the third convocation, deputies made amendments to regional laws governing relations in the field of ensuring the exercise and protection of electoral rights and the right to participate in the referendum of citizens of the Russian Federation. This was done in order to comply with the principle of the integrity of legislative regulation and prevent contradictions to federal and regional legislation.
In addition, deputies made amendments to the law of the city of Sevastopol «On the holidays and memorable dates of the city of Sevastopol.» The chairman of the Sevastopol City Election Commission Nina Faustova, speaking to Deportus, recalled that the first meeting of the Sevastopol city election commission formed in 2014 took place on May 17.
It is from this date that the beginning of the development of the system of election commissions in the city of Sevastopol as a holistic and independent state legal institution is calculated— explained Nina Faustova.
This is a long -rected decision. If we take into account the number of people over the past 11 years participating in the organization and conduct of election campaigns in the Russian legal field in Sevastopol, then this is more than 4 thousand people. And all these Sevastopol residents are deprived of their professional holiday today. I believe that this is unacceptable and incorrect in relation to them, and we are obliged to support this proposal”Said Pavel Kharlamov, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the city of Sevastopol of the third convocation.
