The embankment of Primorsky Boulevard is being reconstructed in Sevastopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Sevastopol, the reconstruction of the embankment continues, carried out within the framework of the approved architectural and artistic project. The goal of the project is not only to renew the coastal zone, but also to ensure its durability and safety for city residents.
Before the start of work, comprehensive design and survey activities were carried out, and a positive expert opinion was received. Studying the history of the embankment, experts came to the conclusion that rubble masonry objects were repeatedly destroyed by the elements. This was the reason for the choice of modern materials for reconstruction, in particular, concrete bank protection and granite cladding. Particular attention is paid to strengthening the retaining wall, which was also subject to regular destruction. Archival materials and research confirm that in the past the wall was rebuilt and modified several times. It is currently in disrepair and requires urgent protection from storms. Cladding the wall with granite slabs, provided for by the project, will, among other things, significantly strengthen its structure, ensuring resistance to natural phenomena— note the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.
Currently, work to strengthen the wall is in full swing. The plaster was removed from it, a metal frame was installed, which serves as the basis for further granite cladding (photo in the gallery).
Also, along the perimeter of the embankment on the water side, a metal frame for a parapet has been installed, which will protect the pedestrian area from waves and ensure the safety of passers-by. This parapet is provided by the project specifically to strengthen the embankment and strengthen the coastal line. At the same time, access to water along the embankment is maintained.
