The enemy blew up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, the Dnieper is flooding. What does this mean for Crimea?
CrimeaPRESS reports:
That night, as a result of another shelling by the Armed Forces of Kakhovka HPP, a dam broke and an uncontrolled discharge of Dnieper water began. 14 settlements of the Kherson region were in the flood zone, in total about 80 may be flooded. In Nova Kakhovka, its level has already exceeded 10 meters. Residents of about 300 houses on the banks of the Dnieper are evacuated. A significant part of infrastructure facilities in Novaya Kakhovka is flooded. Note that this official data. One can only guess about the scale of the catastrophe, or rather the next crime of the Kyiv regime. Here is just one fact — the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station is no more. She went completely underwater. The object cannot be restored. The blow to the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, presumably, was delivered from the MLRS «Alder». They fought to defeat, to destroy. So this photo… is history.
As of noon, part of Novaya Kakhovka was temporarily disconnected from electricity. How informed Chairman of the government of the Kherson region Andrei Alekseenko, 14 settlements, where 22 thousand people live, fall into the flood zone. He added that the level of water rise below the hydroelectric power station is from two to four meters, which does not threaten large settlements downstream. However, the destruction of the station caused serious damage to the environment.
Mayor of Nova Kakhovka Vladimir Leontiev noted that destruction at the station will lead to problems in the delivery of water to the Crimea. But … this is for the future. So far there are no problems with water in Crimea. But you need to be aware and accept this fact — in the Dnieper, above the hydroelectric power station, the water level, as expected, began to fall. In the short term, this drop in water volumes entering the North Crimean Canal.
Regarding the situation associated with the undermining of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. There is no threat of flooding in Crimea. However, there is a risk that the North Crimean Canal will become shallow. At present, the water reserves in the canal are about 40 million cubic meters. Reservoirs, even those that were previously filled by 15-20%, currently have about 80% filling. Drinking water is more than enough. Work is underway to minimize water losses in the canal. In the coming days, the dynamics and possible risks will be clear— informed Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov.
Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev, in turn, said that damage to the hydroelectric power station would not affect the water supply of Sevastopol, since the city uses its own reservoir, the water reserves in it are at a maximum.
Interestingly, the President of Ukraine Zelensky is already trumpeting with might and main (and this opinion is being replicated by the Western media chorus) that it was «the Russians themselves who blew up the dam.» Where is the logic? The left bank of the Dnieper in the Khrson region (controlled by the Russian Federation) is lower than the right bank — «Ukrainian». We decided to harm ourselves, to wash away our own positions (and the military admits that part of the defensive lines will now have to be moved), to create problems for ourselves with flooded villages and Novaya Kakhovka, the evacuation of thousands of people? Where is the logic?!
Just the «benefit» from such a spill of the Dnieper can be seen for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It will be easier to cross the river, besides, big water can wash away minefields… Well, yes, the search for meaning and logic in the actions and thoughts of terrorists is an occupation for idle minds. Crime, that’s all.
Another crime in a series of numerous committed by the Kyiv regime. These paid agents of Washington are really ready to leave behind the Wild Field, destroying everything that was created by decades of hard work of the inhabitants of Novorossia. But this crime, like all the previous ones, will not help the terrorists to avoid the sad ending of their criminal activities: they are waiting for the dock and they will be cursed by their own people.
The authorities of the Kherson region, the military leadership foresaw this provocation and were ready for it. I hope that all necessary measures are taken in a timely manner and in full. We, for our part, are ready to provide the victims with any necessary assistance.— Vladimir Konstantinov, chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, commented on the situation.
Meanwhile, the acting governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, headed the operational headquarters for the situation at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. Three operational groups of rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to Novaya Kakhovka, Holaya Pristan and Alyoshka. The authorities of the Kherson region urged to be ready for the evacuation of residents of coastal settlements in case the situation worsens. All measures in case of such need are already being carried out.
