The “enraged” truck caused a massive accident on Zakharov Square in Sevastopol. A man died

The police are establishing the circumstances of a truck hitting several cars and a pedestrian in Sevastopol. A massive accident happened today at 11:40 am on the slope of Levnevsky Street to Zakharov Square (Northern side of the city)

According to preliminary information, as a result of a brake system malfunction, a 27-year-old Ural truck driver collided with two passing Hyundai cars driven by 46 and 55-year-old men. Then, continuing to move, the domestic heavy truck drove into two parked FAV and Ford cars. Further, the Ural reached General Zakharov Square, where it collided with three more parked vehicles: two Toyotas and a KAvZ bus without passengers. After that, the truck ran into a 38-year-old man moving with a scooter, and then another parked Chevrolet car and an unused trolleybus— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

A 38-year-old pedestrian died as a result of the accident. In addition, 8-year-old and 40-year-old passengers of the Chevrolet car received injuries of varying severity.

Police officers and other services immediately arrived at the scene to clarify the circumstances of the incident and provide assistance to the participants in the road accident. The truck driver showed no signs of intoxication.

On the fact of a traffic accident, an investigation is being carried out, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made.
