In Sevastopol, a criminal investigation has been completed against the former head of the Sevastopol State Budgetary Institution “Parks and Public Gardens” department, accused of abuse of office (Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigative department for the Leninsky district established that a contract was concluded between the State Budgetary Institution “Parks and Squares”, represented by the current head of the department, and a construction company to carry out major repairs of the Leninsky Komsomol square. During 2019, the contractor, in violation of the terms of the contract, did not carry out part of the necessary work, but provided the customer with documents on their full completion. The head of the department did not provide proper control, did not find out the actual circumstances, did not involve specialists and did not order an examination of the work performed in order to determine their compliance with the terms of the contract. The official deliberately signed the provided acts, after which he transferred them for execution to the accounting department of the State Budgetary Institution “Parks and Squares”,” the Investigative Committee provided details.
According to the expert’s conclusion, the cost of the work not actually completed by the construction company for the major repairs of the Lenin Komsomol park exceeded 1.5 million rubles. This is the amount of damage caused to the budget of the city of Sevastopol, calculated on a large scale. The director of the construction company was also prosecuted on charges of fraud.
Currently, the criminal investigation against the former official has been completed. Sufficient evidence has been collected regarding the accused. The materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office in order to approve the indictment and transfer the case to court.
