The exhibition “From St. Nicholas to the Baptism of the Lord!” is presented in Simferopol.

At the Crimean Ethnographic Museum, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, the grand opening of the exhibition “From St. Nicholas to the Baptism of the Lord!” took place.
The rector of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene Equal to the Apostles in Simferopol, Archpriest Vladimir Chernetsky and the director of the Crimean Ethnographic Museum Yuri Laptev delivered a welcoming congratulatory speech. They noted the traditional nature of the event, which is being held within the museum for the seventeenth time and opens on a bright holiday — St. Nicholas Day.
The exhibition is the result of joint work of the Simferopol and Crimean dioceses, the Crimean Ethnographic Museum.
With the blessing of the Head of the Crimean Metropolis, Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea, a competition for children’s drawings (Christmas cards) and Christmas tree decorations was announced among students of secondary and Sunday schools, Orthodox gymnasiums and lyceums, art schools and studios, pupils of preschool and other children’s institutions of Crimeareports the press service of the Republican Ministry of Culture.
About 900 works are presented to visitors, including both individual and collective creativity of representatives of various cities and regions of the peninsula.
Exhibition “From St. Nicholas to the Baptism of the Lord!” is also a competition; during the entire period of the exhibition until January 19, 2024, visitors can take part in voting. In addition to the professional commission, children’s works will be evaluated by their peers. Every child who comes to the exhibition on any day will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite exhibit. Based on the voting results, the People’s Choice Award will be given to works in the following categories: “Best Drawing”, “Best New Year Tree”, “Best Craft”.
The exhibition will be summed up on January 19, 2024.
