The exhibition «To the sound of coins» opened in the Khan's Palace of Bakhchisarai
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Museum of the History and Culture of the Crimean Tatars of the Bakhchisaray Museum-Reserve hosted the opening of the exhibition «To the sound of coins.» The exhibition in the Khan’s Palace presents a treasure trove of coins from the second half of the 18th century, found on the territory of Bakhchisarai in 1925. These are the coins of the Crimean Khanate, minted at the mints under different rulers.
The minting of their own coins was one of the most important rights and privileges of the Crimean khans. Often their release was associated not only with the ascension to the throne of a new ruler, but with ongoing reforms and the economic situation.
The exhibition is located on the Palace Square of the Khan’s Palace and is available for viewing on September 5 and 12, 2023.
