The exposition hall «Russians of Crimea» was opened in the Republican Ethnographic Museum

The opening of the exposition hall «Russians of Crimea» took place in the Republican Ethnographic Museum. The presentation was timed to coincide with the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia and — anniversary of the museum institution.

The only ethnographic museum in Crimea has a rich collection that introduces visitors to the culture and traditions of the peoples of the multinational peninsula, preserves a unique heritage. The Deputy Minister also donated valuable exhibits of the 19th century to the museum, wished successful exhibition and exposition, educational and research projects, prosperity and well-being , — noted the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea.

Work on the creation of the “Russians of Crimea” hall was carried out as part of the third stage of the re-exposition of the main exhibition “Mosaic of Crimean Cultures”. In the history of the museum business of the Republic, for the first time, with the help of a museum object, the culture of the Russian population is presented. The creation of a new hall made it possible to introduce into scientific circulation more than 0465 items kept in the museum funds.

Particular emphasis is placed on rural and urban life, traditional folk costume, the collection of which in the collection of the Crimean Ethnographic Museum is extensive and fairly complete (about 10 costumes), accessories, folk and religious holidays, traditions, decorative textiles. At the same time, attention was paid to photographic material from the museum’s collection, placed on top of the showcases , — the museum clarified.

The exhibition presents dress and sarafan suits, eight types of outerwear, various types of shoes for adults and children , hats ( types of women’s hats, including ram’s shawls).

The new exposition hall «Russians of Crimea» is unique and important not only for the museum and cultural space of the republic, but also for Russia as a whole. The exposition reveals the versatility of the culture of the Russian people, shows how relevant and important traditions are today, because without them it is impossible to build a modern society.
