The Federal Center will supervise the reconstruction of the embankment in Koktebel
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The reconstruction of the Koktebel embankment is being carried out within the framework of the federal target program «Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol». The work started in June 2023. The project is planned to be completed at the end of 2025. Currently, inspectors of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «RosStroyKontrol» have begun monitoring the implementation of the project.
The length of the renovated embankment will be 1.9 km. The design documentation provides not only for the improvement of the territory, but also for the installation of utility networks. It is planned to install a new protective wall to replace the existing one, the condition of which in some areas is recognized as emergency. Anti-landslide structures, a beach-retaining groyne, a pumping station, a rescue post with a first-aid station and public toilets will also be installed.
The reconstruction of the embankment with a total area of 8.697 hectares will not only transform the appearance of the resort, but will also solve one of the main problems of the village — wastewater treatment. The project provides for the construction of local treatment facilities, as well as the installation of a deep-water outlet. Its length from the point of connection to the pumping station to the dispersing head, which will allow the dispersal of purified wastewater into the sea without harm to the environment, will be 733 m., – said Vladimir Shcherbinin, General Director of RosStroyKontrol.
Currently, work is underway on the embankment to install bored piles, assemble reinforced concrete grillages of retaining walls, fill sections of the future beach with pebbles, install an anti-landslide structure, and work has begun on installing a water outlet for the Yantyk River. They have also begun installing external storm sewer networks at the site.
Koktebel is widely known as a land of poets and artists, and the reconstruction of the embankment should highlight the cultural component of the village, including through the preservation of memorable places.
Near the reconstructed embankment there are cultural heritage sites of regional significance. Among them are the house where the Russian poet and artist Maximilian Voloshin lived, the estate of his mother Elena Kiriyenko-Voloshina, as well as a memorial sign in honor of Soviet paratroopers and the Junge family crypt, where the founder of Koktebel, Professor Eduard Junge, is buried. The project provides for measures to ensure the preservation of landmarks that are significant for the city and its residents. They include strict adherence to adopted design decisions, organization of quality control of work and constant monitoring of the condition of cultural heritage sites., – Vladimir Shcherbinin emphasized.
The reconstruction of the embankment will significantly increase the tourist attractiveness of Koktebel, providing comfortable and safe conditions for local residents and vacationers. As part of the improvement of the territory, it is planned to make new sidewalks, platforms and driveways from tiles and paving stones, install small architectural forms and drainage channels.
