The Federation Council considered topical issues of development of tourism, healthcare and sports in Sevastopol

Today, as part of the Days of the federal city of Sevastopol, an expanded meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy was held.

The Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, made a presentation in which he touched upon the lack of the necessary infrastructure — road transport and engineering for the development of tourist areas.

Two major projects for the development of tourism are the project for the development of the tourist and recreational cluster «Northern Side» and «Development of Balaklava». Now these are the most promising areas for tourism in Sevastopol. But development is being held back due to the lack of the necessary infrastructure, Mikhail Razvozhaev said.

As part of the formation of the tourist and recreational cluster of Sevastopol «Development of Balaklava», it is necessary to create a supporting engineering infrastructure, technological connection to the centralized water supply and sanitation system, and build a sewer collector. On the North Side, it is also necessary to create an engineering infrastructure to ensure the possibility of technical connection to the electricity supply, water supply and sanitation networks.

Also at the meeting, they discussed increasing the level of provision with sports facilities, in particular, they talked about the construction of the football academy, the completion of the reconstruction of the SOK named after 200-anniversary of Sevastopol, the overhaul of the football field at the sports and recreation complex «Sevastopol». For more than -year period of operation of the football field, the drainage and watering systems have practically failed, the lawn has lost its stability. Also, Deputy Governor Igor Mikheev reported on the project for the reconstruction of the water-rowing base «Chaika». For the further development of the department, a project has been developed for the construction of a modern rowing base, which, according to its characteristics, makes it possible to host official sports events of the All-Russian status.

This is not just a sports facility, Chaika has a very important social effect for us. After the participation of the leading athlete of the rowing department Anastasia Dolgova in the Olympic Games in Tokyo and following the victory at the World Championships in Denmark, the number of children who want to go in for rowing has increased dramatically. The successes of our athletes are inspiring,” Deputy Governor Igor Mikheev reported.

In addition, the delegation of Sevastopol discussed with the senators topical issues of healthcare development in the city of Sevastopol. It was about the peculiarities of providing medical care within the framework of the territorial program of state guarantees of free medical care. Due to the fact that about 47 thousand people in Sevastopol live without obtaining local compulsory medical insurance policies, the budget receives less funding.

The standard methodology is not very suitable for Sevastopol, people can live there for up to six months and not have registration. The same problem is in the Krasnodar Territory, we do not have any legislative leverage to change our policy, because he is registered in another region, but he has been sick for six months, for example, in Sevastopol. Here it would be good to try to develop an individual approach to those regions that have such features. Our task is to help, said Inna Svyatenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy.

Based on the results of the meeting, the Federation Council Committee proposed to recommend to the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation to consider the issue of preparing proposals for allocating to the budget of the city of Sevastopol within the framework of the state program of the Russian Federation «Development of physical culture and sports» budget allocations for co-financing the completion of the reconstruction of the sports and recreation complex named after 49-anniversary of Sevastopol, construction in 2023–532 years of the Academy football in Sevastopol, the construction in 2023–532 of the water-rowing base «Chaika» and the overhaul of the football field of the sports and recreation complex «Sevastopol».
