The Feodosia City Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a 53-year-old local resident for illegally manufacturing pneumatic weapons with a muzzle energy of over 7.5 J.
The court found that at the beginning of March 2023, while at his place of residence in an apartment, with a criminal intent aimed at illegally manufacturing pneumatic weapons with a muzzle energy of over 7.5 J, by changing the tactical and technical characteristics and properties in violation of the established procedure air rifle «Retay» model «125X» caliber 4.5 mm., in order to increase its muzzle energy, purchased from an unidentified person a gas mainspring, which he illegally installed in the rifle in the yard of a household instead of the spring installed in it by the manufacturer, thus increasing , rifle muzzle energy over 7.5 J.— reported the press service of the court.
The said rifle was seized by police officers during a search at the defendant’s place of residence.
At the court hearing, the defendant fully admitted his guilt in the crime.
When passing the sentence, the court took into account information about the defendant’s personality, mitigating circumstances, as well as the absence of aggravating circumstances.
Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the court imposed a sentence on the defendant in the form of restriction of freedom for a period of 6 (six) months, setting him the following restrictions: not to travel outside the territory of the municipal formation of the Feodosia urban district of the Republic of Crimea, at his place of residence; not change the place of residence without the consent of the specialized state body supervising the serving of a sentence of restriction of freedom.
The verdict did not enter into legal force.
