The festival «Summer Solstice» in the Baydarskaya Valley brought together more than 450 participants

From June 23 to 25, in the Baidarskaya Valley, at the Urkusta Park site, a three-day Summer Solstice festival was held, which brought together about 450 people from different cities of Crimea, as well as from Moscow, Krasnodar, Ufa. This project is one of the finalists of the Theater Street Creative Workshop, implemented by the ANO Center for the Formation of Civic Culture with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.

During the event, more than 20 craftsmen presented their products at the craft fair. There were sites for blacksmithing, foundry, glass, pottery, where it was possible to make a knife, a tin soldier, a glass bead, and earthenware. In the shade by the river, those who wished were taught how to weave rugs from herbs and bracelets on a beard and how to make sacral jewelry.

Among the activities, each participant of the festival could find something to their liking: play bast shoes, Cossack var, attend classes on the Beloyar system (“Russian yoga”), go hiking to the waterfall for healing herbs, weave wreaths or swim in the lake.

We did not expect that the holiday would be so massive, and at the same time it turned out to be very warm and sincere.— notes the organizer of the event and the finalist of the project «Creative Workshop» Larisa Butorina.

The creators of the program part, the Living Fire space, performed the main rite of the holiday, laying in it the meaning of strength through unity, love for the world and respect for ancestors. Each of the several hundred participants felt like an important part of the whole in a single circle and round dance around the Kupala fire.

The organizers received a lot of feedback about the special, friendly and open atmosphere of the holiday, and express their gratitude to each participant and partner of the event, because we all created this holiday together— noted in the organizing committee of the festival.
