The first extracurricular classes “Talking about important things” this year were held in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

According to tradition, the new school week — the first in 2024 — in schools and colleges began with a ceremonial assembly, the singing of anthems, the removal and raising of flags and the extracurricular activity “Talking about important things.” Today in educational institutions of our country they talked about the alphabet of Ivan Fedorov.

Classes from the series of meetings “Talks about important things” are an integral part of the educational and educational process in schools and colleges in Sevastopol and throughout the country. Every week from September 2022, class teachers discuss with the children current issues in the life of our state — these are public holidays, family traditions, history, and the cultural heritage of our country. All this systematic work is aimed at developing in the younger generation a sense of pride in the Fatherland, involvement in the heroic past, the achievements of our time and confidence in the future., — quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol and. O. Director of the Department of Education and Science of Sevastopol Maxim Krivonos.

Today’s lesson was timed to coincide with the 450th anniversary of the publication of the printed book for teaching writing and reading “ABC”. This textbook is still used as a teaching aid in schools and universities, and is also the subject of study by historians, linguists and philologists.

The first school day after the New Year holidays is devoted to a current topic that is related to school, knowledge, and study. This topic is far from new for the children of our school, but today’s lesson allowed us to delve even deeper into the history of the creation of the alphabet. The guys learned about the outstanding Russian figure Ivan Fedorov, about how children were taught in Rus’ in those distant times, we also discussed why modern people need to read bookssays primary school teacher at school No. 44 Tatyana Vostrikova.

Students watched the video and learned that the first “ABC” was published in the Russian state many years ago. The children were also told how many pages the textbook contained, and why the letter “I” is the last in the alphabet. During the lesson, schoolchildren recalled Russian folk proverbs about knowledge, literacy, study, and books.

Today’s lesson was very interesting to me; I knew the answers to many of the teacher’s questions. What’s new to me is what obstacles Ivan Fedorov encountered on the way to creating the alphabet, but despite everything he was able to create this wonderful alphabet, — notes Radmila, a 4th grade student at school No. 44.
