The first half of the camp shift of the «School by the Sea» project in Crimea has passed
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The first half of the camp shift of the project «School by the Sea» was completed with dignity. This opinion was expressed by the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea — Minister of Finance of the Republic of Crimea Irina Kiviko:
Crimea was among the first in the country to launch the educational project “School by the Sea”, dedicated to issues of school participatory budgeting.
As the Deputy Prime Minister reported, under the patronage of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Crimea, from June 24 to July 14, a specialized camp shift is being held at the Children’s Health Center «Scarlet Sails» (Zaozernoye settlement) as part of the «School by the Sea» project.
On July 25, all the kids took part in the quest «ShkIB-pathfinders». The goal of the quest is to get to know each other better, learn more about the camp territory, mark the best places in the camp, as well as areas that could be improved.
The game was very dynamic. The counselors were students. KIPU named after Fevzi Yakubov actively joined the work of the shift, tried on the roles of not only ShkIB mentors, but also scriptwriters, directors, quest moderators and hosts. The guys noted a number of places in the camp that, in their opinion, need improvement: these locations formed the basis for the ideas of the ShkIB projects and further games in the camp in the second half of the shift— the press service quotes Irina Kiviko.
The game «ShkIB-glossary» took place on July 27. During the game, the children practiced explaining the basic concepts of participatory budgeting to the mascot of the «School by the Sea» project, Shkibus, who does not know or understand our language. Therefore, the children explained themselves to him using gestures and facial expressions.
The game «Camp is just space!» took place on July 28. The children were asked to draw how they imagined the spaces in the camp on the planet Erior.
The guys came up with not only the arrangement of outer space in detail, but also, for example, technical features of shower structures on a space beach or robot librarians. During the game, each squad received bonuses, which at the end of the route through the stages of project formation could be exchanged for a surprise gift or an additional vote in the final choice of the project.
The game «My Best Camp» took place on June 30. Each child from the squad had the opportunity to offer their idea for improving the camp space, discuss it with their team members and justify its importance. In turn, each team member could vote for the idea they liked, except for their own. Thus, leaders of project ideas were formed in the squads, who formed their teams — project groups. Already on July 1, the formed teams presented their ideas in the form of drawings on posters. The children directed their projects mainly at solving absolutely simple issues: equipping rooms, showers, squad places, a hall.
On July 2, the project teams gathered to plan work related to the direct implementation of their ideas within the framework of the game «My Best Camp». The children were explained what documents and how to prepare for the project to materialize. Each project team began to work out estimates of their ideas, determine the number of goods, services, and volume of work required for the project. The teams also still have to shoot a video about their project, prepare a presentation and present their project for examination to the camp management and curators. To be continued in the second part of the shift.
The profile shift dedicated to the ideas of ShkIB is turning out to be very intense and interesting. We are confidently following the planned course: during the first half of the shift we managed to do everything that was planned and even more. The guys were assisted in all tasks by the staff Center for the Study of Civil Initiatives IB— emphasizes Irina Kiviko.
