The first meeting of the Sevastopol City Election Commission took place

Today the first meeting of the new composition of the Sevastopol City Election Commission took place. The new composition included 12 voting members, one half of whom were appointed by the city governor, and the other half by the Legislative Assembly. Two members of the commission were nominated by the Central Election Commission of Russia, five by political parties, two by public associations and two by councils of municipal districts of the city, and one more candidate from the previous composition.

The meeting was opened by a member of the Sevastopol City Election Commission, Viktor Gutman. As part of the working agenda at the meeting, issues regarding the election of the governing bodies of the commission were considered. From among the 12 members of the new city election commission, the chairman, deputy chairman and secretary of the commission were elected by secret ballot. At the proposal of the Russian Central Election Commission, Nina Faustova was elected chairman, Alexander Chmykhalov was elected deputy chairman, and Irina Admaeva was elected secretary of the commission.

Over the past five years, the Sevastopol City Election Commission has organized and conducted 19 election campaigns in the Hero City: 2 federal, 5 regional, 12 municipal campaigns, and in 2020 a nationwide vote was held on the issue of approving amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Over the past period, members of the Northern City Election Commission held 180 meetings and adopted more than a thousand resolutions.

Let us remind you that the formation of a new composition of the Sevastopol City Election Commission was completed on May 3, 2024. All members of the commission have higher education. When forming the new composition of the SGIK, continuity in its work was maintained: nine members of the commission were members of the previous composition of the Northern City Election Commission and have extensive experience in preparing and conducting election campaigns at various levels.
