The closing ceremony of the first Olympiad for Young Theaters took place on the stage of the Theater for Young Spectators. The event was organized within the framework of the project “Methodological Theater Center at the Sevastopol Theater for Young Spectators”, which started in September last year. Its goal is professional assistance and assistance to teachers of school theaters. The Center was created as part of the execution of President Vladimir Putin’s order to develop a program of compulsory theater education in secondary and secondary specialized educational institutions.

38 school theater teachers were trained in the center. Holding the Olympiad for Young Theaters is a big step in the development of theatrical art in educational institutions. 3,756 schoolchildren and students from 52 educational institutions of the city attended master classes for students and laboratories for analysis of performances.
One of the components of the mission of the professional theater of the young spectator is the education of future well-prepared spectators, ready to perceive a serious repertoire addressed to adults. It is all the more important to lead teenagers through school theaters and introduce them to the secrets of the acting profession. It would be difficult to do this without the participation of professionals. The closing of the Olympiad was held in the format of a patriotic marathon «My Sevastopol is my hero!» The program included 22 performances. The participants were 230 children from 18 schools and youth clubs. The organizers decided not to determine the winners — diplomas of the Department of Culture and the Department of Education and Science were awarded to all participating teams.
