The first rescue exercises at the Yevpatoria Sports Palace
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Fire safety at new infrastructure facilities is the most important task for local employees and all city services. The Sports Palace in Yevpatoria was put into operation only last year and fire-tactical exercises had not previously been held at a facility with a large number of people.
As the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea said, according to the legend of the exercise, in the room on the second floor of the gym, due to emergency operation of electrical equipment, a short circuit occurred, followed by a fire. The fire began to spread across the area of the room along the combustible floor and wall coverings in the room.
The communications point of the 5th Fire and Rescue Squad received a signal that an automatic fire alarm had been activated, and the administration confirmed a fire in the room on the second floor of the building. The personnel organized the evacuation of people, but extinguishing the resulting fire with primary means was impossible due to heavy smoke.
The arriving fire and rescue units carried out a combat deployment, the GDZS unit conducted reconnaissance and evacuated the victim, using personal respiratory protection.
Thanks to coordinated actions, professional knowledge and skills of the personnel of the Evpatoria Fire and Rescue Garrison, the mock fire was successfully extinguished— reported the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea.
It is emphasized that during the exercise, issues of evacuating facility personnel, rescuing victims, water supply during a fire were worked out, and the features of fire extinguishing were worked out, taking into account the specifics of the facility.
In total, 14 units of equipment and 59 personnel took part in the exercises, of which: from the Ministry of Emergency Situations — 11 units of equipment and 51 personnel.
