Today, within the walls of the Sevastopol branch of the PRUE. Plekhanov, 50 young people went through a one-day financial literacy school in order to further popularize a reasonable attitude towards money among the city residents. The event was held as part of Arina Avramenko’s project “Take care of the budget! No to scammers!”, which became the winner of the competition of volunteer projects of the city. The program is designed for students of higher educational institutions and schoolchildren and consists of four blocks: educational, creative, practical and informational.
Last year, the project team developed six animated videos that simply and clearly talk about various types of fraud. One of them can still be seen on information boards in city trolleybuses. For several months, the video has received a total of about 50 thousand views on the Internet, which is the best demonstration of the relevance of the project.— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the deputy head of the department for youth and sports, Marina Slonchenko.
The speakers of the educational block were representatives of the Central Bank of Russia, who told the participants about the types of fraud and how to protect against it. As part of the creative block, blogger Ruslan Konovalov helped the participants to get rid of internal clamps and spoke about oratorical techniques and expressive means. Participants could immediately put their knowledge into practice.
Practical and information blocks were held under the guidance of Arina Avramenko. Participants learned how to work with information on the Internet, find and check materials, and in teams developed their own financial literacy lessons and layouts of visual materials.
After the presentation of the works, the participants received certificates of completion of the school and badges of financial literacy volunteers. In the near future, they will begin to conduct their own educational events so that as many residents of Sevastopol as possible know how to manage their finances and not fall for the tricks of scammers.
