The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, announced the first victory of a fellow countryman at the BRICS Games. Wrestler Rafael Yunusov won the silver medal of the tournament.
Rafael Yunusov took second place in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 82 kg, defeating athletes from Belarus, Abkhazia, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan. In the final, Rafael lost to Belarusian Stanislav Shafarenko. The competition will last until June 23, with representatives from 97 countries taking part. Russian Greco-Roman wrestlers have seven gold medals, two silver and a bronze. “Congratulations to Rafael Yunusov and his coaches,” said Mikhail Razvozhaev.
