The Russian FSB stopped the activities of a cell of the international terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (banned in the Russian Federation) in Crimea. About it reports Public Relations Center (PSC) of the FSB of Russia.
The Federal Security Service in the Republic of Crimea suppressed the activities of a secret cell of the international terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami (banned in Russia by a decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation in 2003). It was established that the functionaries of the terrorist structure carried out anti-constitutional activities based on the doctrine of creating a so-called global caliphate, destroying the institutions of secular society and aimed at overthrowing the current government by forcesays the DSP message.
According to the FSB, using secrecy measures during meetings, the banned “Hizb” spread terrorist ideology among the residents of the peninsula, as well as “recruited Crimean Muslims into their ranks«
Searches were carried out at the places of residence of members of the terrorist organization, during which a significant amount of propaganda materials prohibited in Russia, communications equipment, and electronic storage media that were used for terrorist activities were seized. In addition, large sums of money were found in Russian and foreign currencies.
The investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has initiated criminal cases.
