The Governor of Sevastopol met with participants of the World Youth Festival

On March 12, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev met with the delegation that arrived in Hero City after the main program of the World Youth Festival.
At the observation deck of the historical and archaeological park «Chersonese Tauride» Mikhail Razvozhaev told guests from Abkhazia, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Germany, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Indonesia, Iraq, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Nepal, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Serbia, Chile and Ecuador about the history of Sevastopol and Chersonese, about the construction of a cultural complex and about the upcoming opening of the institution.
The historical and archaeological park “Tavrichesky Chersonesos” is being built on behalf of our President Vladimir Putin. This huge cultural complex is being built on a sacred place for all of Russia — where Prince Vladimir was baptized. Construction is proceeding at a colossal pace, and we plan that it will open this summer — on the Day of the Baptism of Rus’,” the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Mikhail Razvozhaev.
The delegation also visited the Sevastopol Children’s Art School. Together with the head of the city, over a cup of tea, the city guests discussed various issues: the main aspects of the region’s development, youth policy, the possibility of international cooperation and cultural exchange, interaction in scientific and student life. In turn, young people and girls shared their impressions and talked about how many stereotypes regarding Russia and Sevastopol there are now in European countries. They unanimously expressed the opinion that residents of other countries should come to Sevastopol to see for themselves how the Hero City is developing and thriving.
The World Youth Festival, held in Sochi from March 1 to 7, brought together participants from more than 180 countries. Now Sevastopol, like 30 other regions of Russia, is hosting guests of this event as part of the regional program “We have returned to Russia.” Guests from all over the world took a sightseeing tour of the city, visited the 35th coastal battery, Sapun Mountain, Tauride Chersonesus, the Chembalo fortress, the submarine museum in Balaklava, Sevastopol State University, and the phygital center.
