The gynecological department of Sevastopol City Hospital No. 1 celebrates its anniversary

Today, the gynecological department of City Hospital No. 1 provides the full range of gynecological care to patients in need of emergency and planned surgical treatment. Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Alexander Kulagin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Vladimir Nemtsev, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Legislative Assembly Tatyana Shcherbakova and Director of the Health Department Vitaly Denisov came to congratulate the staff on the 100th anniversary of the department and present well-deserved awards.

Director of the Department of Health Vitaly Denisov expressed special gratitude to the veterans of the department who pass on their knowledge and experience to the younger generation of doctors.

At different times, true professionals in their field have worked and continue to work here. Doctors, nurses and other specialists perform their work at the highest level every day, helping to gain health, vitality and confidence in the future.

I have been working in the department since 1977, and during this time I have never once had the thought of leaving here. I started my activities in the old building, then we were transferred here. Our department has come a long way over the years, I am proud to be part of such a friendly teamnotes senior operating nurse Irina Petrukhina.

Today, the department has 40 24-hour hospital beds and 2 day care beds, 48 ​​employees work, including four labor veterans — their work experience in the department is more than 40 years.

About 2,500 patients are discharged annually, and up to 2,000 operations of varying complexity and volume are performed. Planned hospitalization is carried out five days a week, while the work itself takes place 24/7, — says the head of the department, Stella Beloglazova.

Specialists are especially proud of the widespread use of endosurgical interventions, which can be performed using a low-traumatic laparoscopic method.

We have been involved in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery since 2010. Recently they have made a very big leap — 70% of abdominal surgeries are performed this way. Since 2015, operations have been successfully performed as part of high-tech medical care, including X-ray endovascular interventions,” the manager emphasizes.

For reference: the history of the gynecological department of city hospital No. 1 began in 1923 in the Isakovsky surgical pavilion with maternity beds and a women’s surgical department, and already in 1924 the department moved to a new, specially built two-story building, which has survived to this day.
