The harsh truth of life: chicken eggs are not getting cheaper
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Already sounded today fair remark regarding the prices of chicken eggs. You and I (that is, the buyers), it seems, must accept one more opinion. The Russian Poultry Union is not sure that chicken eggs will become cheaper. They believe that the price of 110-125 rubles per dozen is “adequate” and “fair”. Writes about this «Parliamentary newspaper».
According to the General Director of the Russian Poultry Union Galina Bobyleva, even the supply of eggs from abroad will not affect prices. The volume of imported products is too small to seriously influence the situation on the market, and it was not possible to limit trade margins.
According to Rosstat, in the week from December 19 to 25, egg prices not only did not decrease, but, on the contrary, increased — on average across the country by four percent, and in some places by 5.1-10.2 percent. At the same time, a decrease was noted only in three regions, and then only insignificantly — from 0.1 to 0.3 percent.
In chain stores, eggs, as a rule, cost the same as they cost — on average from 130 to 150 rubles per dozen.
Meanwhile, the Russian Poultry Union assured Parliamentary Gazeta that we most likely won’t expect any serious drop in prices, even taking into account the influx of imported products into the market.
Eggs won’t get any cheaper, said General Director of the Russian Poultry Union Galina Bobyleva. — In my opinion, the established prices — 110-125 rubles per dozen — are absolutely normal, fair and adequate for this product.
According to Galina Bobyleva, today the selling price of eggs from producers under long-term contracts is in the range of 95-105 rubles. Everything else is the retail chains’ own expenses and the inevitable trade markup.
As for import supplies, given the declared volumes, they will not play any role in pricing and will not bring a positive effect, noted the General Director of the Rosptitsesoyuz. — In addition, according to the information we have, purchase prices for eggs from Turkey and Azerbaijan are currently set no lower than for products from our domestic producers.
Let us note that independent experts have previously spoken about the predominantly “psychological” effect of duty-free imports. Thus, the same Russian Poultry Union stated that the planned supply volumes of 1.2 billion pieces, with a total annual production volume in Russia of 45 billion pieces, will not give anything to the market and will not affect pricing in any way.
