Since the beginning of the year, greenhouse enterprises in Crimea have harvested more than 12.5 thousand tons of cucumbers and tomatoes. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Andrei Savchuk. The harvest is at the same level as last year.
Let me remind you that last year about 19 thousand tons of vegetables were harvested. A dozen large enterprises and peasant farms grow vegetables indoors, that is, in greenhouses. According to operational data from the districts, farmers have already harvested more than 8 thousand tons of cucumbers and more than 4 thousand tomatoes. So far this is about the same as last year,” the minister commented.
Andrey Savchuk recalled that the state annually reimburses vegetable growing enterprises that grow crops indoors for part of the energy costs: electricity, gas, as well as additional lighting technology, thanks to which the greenhouses maintain optimal temperature and lighting for ripening.
This year, our enterprises received about 14 million rubles in subsidies in these areas. In addition to vegetables in greenhouses, farmers continue to harvest “borscht set” vegetables, potatoes and in the fields. About 95 thousand tons and more than 40 thousand tons, respectively, have already been collected. The harvest of these crops is expected to be at the same level as last year.,” added the head of the Crimean Ministry of Agriculture.
