The head of Crimea congratulated Kerch on the 50th anniversary of being awarded the high title of “Hero City”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
50 years ago, Kerch was awarded the high title of “Hero City”. The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, congratulated the people of Kerch on this significant anniversary.
We remember the tragic and heroic events of the Great Patriotic War, which unfolded on the ancient Kerch land. We remember the courage of the city’s inhabitants, the great feat of its defenders and liberators. The Obelisk of Glory on Mount Mithridates, the Museum of the History of the Defense of the Adzhimushkai Quarries, and the Museum of the History of the Kerch-Eltigen Landing have become symbols of unparalleled perseverance, fortitude and military valor. They are known not only in Russia, but also far beyond its borders.
Today Kerch harmoniously combines rich history and modernity. The city is developing and transforming, being an important transport, industrial and administrative center of Crimea and the South of Russia. This is the merit and result of the selfless work of all Kerchan residents.
Dear friends! I wish you peace and harmony, health and prosperity, and development and prosperity to the beautiful and forever young hero city— says the congratulations of the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov.
