The head of Crimea praised the work of employees of the Artek International Children's Center

During the event, a video greeting of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was broadcast, in which the head of state emphasized that Artek was and remains one of the main symbols of a happy childhood and strong friendship.

Turning to those present, Sergei Aksyonov expressed gratitude to the staff of the institution for preserving Artek, for his contribution to the recovery and education of the young generation.

Over the first hundred years, Artek has passed an amazing path of development, and survived, including difficult times. We well remember what happened before 2014, what struggle the employees of the institution had to wage in order to save the camp from the Ukrainian authorities. It was thanks to your efforts that Artek was preserved for your work and was able to truly be shone after 2014, when the historical reunification of Crimea with Russia occurred. Thanks to the support and decisions of the president adopted in relation to the institution, its large -scale revival took place— said the head of Crimea.

Sergei Aksyonov emphasized that today a unique atmosphere has been created and supported at the International Children’s Center.

We continue the noble cause, begun by our ancestors in 1925. We protect and strengthen all the good undertakings laid down by previous generations. My mother also visited Artek — in 1963. She carried light memories and impressions of this place through her life. Perhaps there is no other similar place in the world that would be so inspired, charged with energy. I am sure that this will be in the next hundred years. Let the new generations of children come here, study, receive an unforgettable impressions of local beauties, attention and care— wished the head of the republic.
