The head of Crimea took part in a meeting of the State Anti-Drug Committee

The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, took part in a videoconference meeting of the State Anti-Drug Committee under the leadership of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police General Vladimir Kolokoltsev.
During the event, participants summed up the work of the committee over the past year. Thus, Vladimir Kolokoltsev informed that in 2023 the number of detected drug crimes for serious and especially serious offenses increased by 11%.
The number of documented facts of production, sale and transfer of drugs committed with the help of IT technologies has increased by almost a third. The detection rate of such crimes increased by 20%. Much has been done to improve the provision of drug treatment services. Additional efforts are aimed at expanding the coverage of prevention activities among our youthnoted the Russian Minister of Internal Affairs.
The meeting participants paid special attention to the topic of drug poisoning and mortality from them. According to the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, the number of acute drug poisonings increased by 14% last year.
As Vladimir Kolokoltsev clarified, methadone took first place in the structure of drug poisoning. In this regard, at the initiative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, liability for its illegal trafficking was strengthened as one of the elements of counteraction. Over the past three years, the implementation of a set of additional measures has resulted in a 13-fold increase in seizures of this drug.
In conclusion, the details of organizing federal statistical monitoring to identify the actual number of drug addicts were discussed, the results of monitoring the drug situation in the country were summed up, and the draft annual report to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was considered.
The event was attended by representatives of federal ministries and departments, regional leaders, and others.
