The head of the Sevastopol ensemble «Joy» Viktor Gotsulenko was also awarded for his contribution to the aesthetic and patriotic education of children and adolescents in the areas where the Navy is based.

The folk choreographic ensemble «Joy» is the pride of Balaklava and the whole of Sevastopol. A team with its own recognizable style and character. The ensemble «Joy» has more than 300 participants: girls and boys, boys and girls aged 5 to 18 years. The group’s repertoire includes many patriotic works. Namely: “We are Sevastopol!”, “The Bells of Chersonesus”, “Children of War”, “Brave Sailors”, “I am in love with you, Russia”, “Eternal Russia”.

I really want to thank the Government of the city of Sevastopol, personally the Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev for their attitude towards us, for how wonderful we now live in Sevastopol and do not need anything. I am really overwhelmed with feelings — a sense of pride in my work, in my team, in my city of Sevastopol. It was unexpected — we just worked and did what we are good at. Nothing is wasted. Today is the highest delight, I am very grateful to receive such an award from the hands of the President. Folk dance is the soul of a person, we have done and will do everything to instill in children a sense of patriotism and love for their homeland through folk art, because without this it is impossible. If we know the past through dance, correctly draw conclusions about the present, then we will have a wonderful future.— Viktor Gotsulenko shared.
