The “Heroes of the Fatherland” sambo tournament took place in Sevastopol

The Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 2 hosted the “Heroes of the Fatherland” sambo tournament, dedicated to the memory of Fedor Bognetov and the memory of SVO participant Dmitry Vostrikov.
The event was organized as part of the Interregional martial arts tournament “Heroes of the Fatherland” with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation, the sports and patriotic club “YAROPOLK”, the sports department of the city of Sevastopol and the Olympic Council of Sevastopol. 15 constituent entities of the Russian Federation took part in the project, each of them hosted competitions in Olympic sports: taekwondo, boxing, Greco-Roman wrestling and freestyle wrestling, as well as hand-to-hand combat, kickboxing, pankration and sambo— note the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.
For the first time, different sports federations of the constituent entities of Russia met in one tournament in a teleconference format. Representatives of martial arts rallied, paying tribute to the memory of the fallen Heroes of the Russian Federation and honoring living modern Heroes of the Fatherland. The teleconference between the participating subjects allowed us to simultaneously see the variety of martial arts, the skills and abilities of talented young athletes, as well as to reveal the topic of heroism in Russia and hear the stories of the exploits of the participants of the Northern Military District,” shared the head of the sports department Sergei Reznichenko.
The wives and children of Dmitry Vostrikov and Fedor Bognetov participated in the opening of the tournament, greeted the athletes and wished them good luck, thanking that the memory of the Heroes is alivesay the organizers.
Six teams from different sports schools and clubs in the city of Sevastopol took part in the team tournament.
- 1st place — team of the Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 2 (coaches Glebov P.V., Glebov D.V.);
- 2nd place — team of the Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 2/SK Solovyi (coaches Medovnik A.G., Govorukha R.V.);
- 3rd place — team of the Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 2 (coaches Volovik K.A., Protopopov V.V., Dorofeev V.V., Amelin V.A.);
- 3rd place — team of the Combat Sports Club (coaches R.G. Akhmetzyanov and V.A. Bobrov).
The event was implemented within the framework of the regional project “Sport is the norm of life” of the national project “Demography”.
