The history of the Crimean War in artifacts: a thematic exhibition opened in Sevastopol

The exhibition “Crimean War on the Black Sea” opened in Sevastopol. The display cases displayed uniforms and weapons of Black Sea sailors, ship instruments and paintings. You can get acquainted with the exhibition, which unfolded in the retro cinema «Ukraine», for free.
According to Tourist portal of Crimea, the exhibition is dedicated to the 240th anniversary of the Black Sea Fleet and the 170th anniversary of the start of the Crimean War. The project introduces the course and little-known episodes of the naval campaigns of 1853, 1854, 1855 on the Black Sea. The exhibition also tells about the activities of sailors during the heroic 349-day defense of Sevastopol and the results of the Crimean War for the Black Sea Fleet and the city.
Uniforms and weapons of Black Sea sailors and enemy fleets, details of ship equipment and ship instruments, and objects of underwater archeology are presented. The events of the Crimean War on the Black Sea are illustrated by a collection of graphics and paintings from the museum’s funds, supplemented by materials from foreign collections.— said at the Museum of Defense of Sevastopol.
The personal belongings of Black Sea sailors who participated in the defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855 deserve special attention.
