“The house is mined!” — in Sevastopol they investigated the case of false mining of a multi-storey building

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Employees of the inquiry department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leninsky district completed an inquiry into a criminal case against a local resident who knowingly falsely reported an existing threat.

During the investigation, it was established that the 40-year-old man was visiting his elderly mother and smelled gas in the apartment. Since the pensioner had recently suffered a serious illness and her sense of smell was impaired, she began to argue with her son and claim that there was no strange smell. After the quarrel, the man went to his home, where, being intoxicated, he remembered a recent conflict with his mother and decided to annoy her. To do this, he called the gas service and made a false report that the apartment building where his mother lived was mined. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Leninsky district, the Canine Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol and a gas service team immediately responded to this message and moved to the address indicated by the suspects. As a result of search activities in the house and in the surrounding area, no dangerous objects were found, which confirmed the falsity of the attacker’s report— the details of the case were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

As a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers detained a man. A criminal case was initiated against him under Part 1 of Art. 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Knowingly false report about an act of terrorism, committed out of hooligan motives.” The sanction of the article incriminated against him provides for punishment in the form of a fine in the amount of 200 to 500 thousand rubles, restriction of freedom for up to three years, or forced labor for a period of two to three years.

Currently, the materials of the criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor have been sent to the Leninsky District Court for further consideration.
