The III International Forum of Young Filmmakers «Global Values» started in Sevastopol

The International Forum of Young Filmmakers «Global Values» starts today in Sevastopol. It will run from 21 to 24 July. The organizers of this large-scale cultural summit are the Innopraktika company and the VGIK-Debut Producer Center.

This year the forum is attended by young filmmakers from 10 countries: Iran, China, Russia, Senegal, Greece, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Belgium. The authors of the works will present their views on global values ​​such as justice and mercy, kindness and patriotism, protection of traditions and friendship. Entrance to film screenings is free. As part of the program, 17 short films will be shown, they are dedicated to the most pressing problems of the modern world.— reported in the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.

Film screenings and other events of the forum will be held at three venues — at the Rossiya cinema, on the summer stage of Primorsky Boulevard «Rakushka» and at the summer cinema on Matrossky Boulevard.

Viewers will also be able to take part in a series of discussions and reflect on the topics “This multipolar world”, “People in identity”, “Value in tradition”, “I start with family”.

The director of the film «Lan Ke Mountain» Wang Yuanheng has been studying at VGIK for the fourth year. His film tells the story of an 80-year-old veteran of the Chinese Resistance War against Japan, trapped in the space of Mount Lan Ke. There he meets his beloved, with whom the war separated him many years ago. The director says that his film is a Chinese national story, where people’s relationships are shown through love, through a wedding ceremony.

My film reflects such values ​​as peace, friendship, the ability to talk and negotiate. Russia and China have a very similar history, especially in the 20th and 21st centuries, and this unites our countries. The inhabitants of our countries are similar — we think a lot about what is right and what is not. We can be friends. We have one waysays the director.

Armel Deyon Olugbega Kukpemedji is a director from Senegal. For him, a trip to the forum is the first trip outside the African continent. Armel really wants to meet a lot of people, go on excursions, see many museums, absorb the energy of Sevastopol.

And the director of the film «Meerman» Aikol Nurlanbek uulu came from Kyrgyzstan. He says that the help of wise and capable people has a huge influence in life. The author hopes that his documentary about one such person — Mother Meerman — will be able to attract the attention of viewers.

The topic covered in the film is very important, especially in recent times. When the COVID-19 pandemic shook the whole of humanity, many people felt that everyone needed to believe that health is the main wealth of a person. The film «Meerman» shows that we always need people who do not lose hope and take care of the human soul in difficult times. The main message of the film is that kindness and mercy will save the world.says the director.

Spectators will also expect special screenings of the full-length films «On the Exhale» and «The Adventures of Little Baja.»

Recall that the International Forum «Global Values» is a platform for creating a youth movement, a cultural dialogue between Russia and other countries. For the first time, this forum was announced in 2020 at the annual VGIK student festival, in the program of which, at the initiative of Innopraktika, the Global Values ​​competition was introduced. In March 2021, the winners and laureates of the festival became participants in the first forum of young filmmakers in Sevastopol.
