The implementation of the “Terroir Sevastopol” project was discussed at the Russian Wine Forum

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The Russian Wine Forum is being held for the third time and is the largest platform for discussing strategies and scenarios for the development of the Russian wine market in the changing conditions of state regulation and state support for the wine industry. As part of the forum, Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Maria Litovko took part in a conference of wine cities. During the event, she spoke about the priority project “Terroir Sevastopol”, implemented since 2018 and aimed at developing the wine industry and wine tourism.

This project is under the constant control of our governor. Its main component is the “wine road” — a circular tourist route with a length of more than 120 km, combining the services and products of viticulture and winemaking enterprises, as well as places for temporary accommodation of tourists, and catering establishments. I would like to note that the products of Sevastopol winemakers are in demand not only on the peninsula, but throughout Russia, – the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Maria Litovko.

Among the main objectives of the priority project “Terroir Sevastopol” are:

  • increasing the area of grape plantings;
  • entering the market with a new tourism product;
  • increasing the tourist attractiveness of Sevastopol;
  • increasing the investment potential of the city;
  • creation of additional jobs.

To date, the project involves 42 participants from among the enterprises of the viticulture and wine industry. Four more are candidates for joining the project. According to enterprise data, the volume of extra-budgetary investments is about 7.5 billion rubles. Also, project participants created 527 new jobs with an average salary of 50 thousand rubles per month.

Let us note that this summer the priority project “Terroir Sevastopol” became the best in the Azov-Black Sea macroregion according to the results of the project competition within the framework of the Regional Development Days “Future Space” at the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”.
