The interest of Sevastopol schoolchildren in financial education is growing every year

The All-Russian Olympiad in Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship was attended by students of grades 1-9. The project was held on the educational online platform Uchi.ru and brought together almost 2 million students across the country. Sevastopol has its own knowledge checked 6.5 thousand schoolchildren.

During the month, schoolchildren mastered the basic principles of financial and cyber literacy, learned the basics of doing business, and tested their skills in protecting personal data from fraudsters. For the first time, the Olympiad included tasks on insurance, as well as on achieving a financial goal — to save up money for a gift.

Sevastopol schoolchildren participate more actively in the Olympiad every year. If in 2021, 3.5 thousand students completed the tasks, last year — about 4 thousand, then this time the number of participants exceeded 6.5 thousand. Depending on the result, schoolchildren received certificates, diplomas or diplomas. Of course, there were topics that turned out to be quite complex, and now, when holding educational meetings in schools, we will pay special attention to these areas. According to the organizers of the project, the participants of the Olympiad were the best at recognizing the tricks of intruders (84% of correct answers across the country), as well as analyzing the activities of enterprises, identifying their strengths and weaknesses (75%). The most difficult thing was to realize myself as a cafe owner. Only 5% of Russian students managed to build a process from purchasing equipment and pricing to promoting their services and creating customer service. Also, only 11% of schoolchildren coped with the choice of insurance depending on various life circumstances.

The Olympiad was held with the assistance of the Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development in accordance with the objectives of the national project «Small and Medium Enterprises».
