The international event “Garden of Memory” will be held in Sudak on March 18:

As part of the campaign, 337 trees will be planted in memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, as well as the heroes of the Northern Military District.
The “Garden of Memory” campaign starts annually in Crimea and is held throughout Russia. Its goal is to plant 27 million trees in memory of every hero of the Great Patriotic War. This year, the project has crossed the five-year mark and has already become a national tradition for preserving historical memory, as well as making a contribution to the preservation of forests and greening of cities. It will be attended by representatives of the government of the Republic of Crimea, administration, public organizations, as well as city activists and creative youth.
The action has been taking place since 2020 on the initiative of the ANO “Garden of Memory”, the all-Russian public movements “Victory Volunteers” and “Forest Volunteers”, the Victory Commanders Memory Fund, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, the Federal Forestry Agency and is being implemented within the framework of the national project “Ecology”.
The Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea, the administration of the city of Sudak, Nikitsky Botanical Garden, Mriya Resort and Luciano Wellness&Spa Foros provided assistance in organizing the event in Sudak.
On a joint initiative art cluster «Tavrida» (project of Rosmolodezh)movements «Forest Volunteers» And Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea This year, a comprehensive program for landscaping the territory of Sudak, the Meganom Academy of Creative Industries and its coastal zone is being launched. This program continues the initiative of the Tavrida art cluster to green the peninsula, which began in October as part of the Green Festival, where Crimeans and guests of the peninsula planted more than 1,600 evergreen trees and perennial shrubs in Kapsel Bay. The green festival “Tavrida.ART” launched the third historical round of afforestation on the peninsula. The coastal zone and the territory of the Tavrida art cluster have already been decorated with Himalayan cedars, Sudak pines, cypresses, almonds, junipers and other plants.

All-Russian public movement «Forest Volunteers» is a non-profit organization engaged in the implementation of all-Russian and international forestry and forest-climatic projects, the development of forest volunteering and volunteering, environmental education and culture, and the promotion of forestry and environmental professions. Projects and activities of the movement are implemented with the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation and the Federal Forestry Agency. Currently, over 10,000 people are involved in the activities of Forest Volunteers, 63 regional branches have been created and operate, including in new regions of Russia. In support of the national project “Ecology”, the movement holds the largest environmental campaigns “Garden of Memory” (spring) and “Save the Forest” (autumn), which annually unite more than 1.5 million people around solving the problems of preserving and reproducing forests and greening urban areas.
