In the Crimean Republican Youth Library, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea, the opening of the IX Interregional School of Young Librarians took place.
The methodological event aimed at expanding professional skills and knowledge is attended by 35 young librarians as listeners and 15 experienced speaker specialists from the Crimea, Vologda, Murmansk and Samara regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Komi Republic.
During the meetings, the problems of modernization of the public library were considered, effective ways of overcoming the existing stereotypes were identified. The combination of lectures, presentations and practical classes made it possible to assimilate a wide range of theoretical knowledge, master practical work skills, get acquainted with their application on the example of specific libraries— the press service of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea reports.
Topics on expanding project initiatives of libraries, cooperation with student associations and youth creative communities have become in demand. A special place is given to the role of libraries in the patriotic education of youth. The theoretical part covered the most important areas of activity — mass forms of work with the reader, the organization of the library fund, the work of a bibliographer in the electronic environment and the promotion of youth reading.
The first day of the school ended with a visit to the Museum of the History of the City of Simferopol.
The program of the second day will include a master class from a photographer on shooting library events, practical classes on the transformation of social networks and the use of artificial intelligence in the work of the library. Librarians will share their experience in organizing interdepartmental cooperation, as well as interacting with volunteers. At the end there will be a training from a professional psychologist and a show performed by the youth theater «Globus».
