Today, the solemn opening ceremony of the Interregional Search Expedition «Sevastopol Frontier» took place. The expedition takes place on the borders of the heroic defense of the Hero City of Sevastopol — the Mekenziev mountains. Work will continue until May 7th. Representatives of the search community from nine regions of Russia take part in them. This year is an anniversary year for search engines. 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the search movement in Russia and 35 years of recognition of the community at the all-Union level.
For many years, you have been purposefully and systematically engaged in an extremely important, noble cause — participating in search expeditions, equipping military graves, and providing effective assistance to veterans and their families. This work invariably finds support and a lively response in the hearts of people, including young people. Thanks to you, every year more and more young men and women join the high moral, spiritual, patriotic values bequeathed to us by the generation of winners. I wish all the participants of the search expedition good luck, to everyone to find the treasured soldier’s medallion, to return the Hero from oblivion, — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, the executive secretary of the «Search Movement of Russia» Yelen Tsunaeva.
The organizers of the expedition are the «Search Movement of Russia», the Museum Historical and Memorial Complex «35th Coastal Battery», the Search Association of the DOSAAF of Russia «Crimea-Sevastopol-Poisk».
60 searchers from the Arkhangelsk, Bryansk, Kirov regions, Krasnodar Territory, the Republics of Dagestan and Crimea, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Moscow and Sevastopol take part in the “Memory Watch”. The expedition is supported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Government of the city of Sevastopol. We hope that these two weeks will be productive and interesting for all of us. We wish you all good luck in your search! Also, as part of the event, a traveling exhibition on search work on the territory of Sevastopol was opened, presented by the regional public organization of patriotic education «Patriot».
The all-Russian public movement to perpetuate the memory of those who died in the defense of the Fatherland «Search Movement of Russia» unites more than 45 thousand search engines of all ages. Regional branches of the movement are open in 84 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. This is the largest organization in our country engaged in field and archival search work.
