The Interregional VR/AR Hackathon “Create Worlds” took place in Sevastopol

From March 15 to 17, the Interregional VR/AR hackathon “Create Worlds” was held at the site of the Quantorium children’s technology park.
Children aged from 11 to 20 took part in it. 8 teams received tasks in two tracks:
- “Flora and fauna of the Black Sea” (basic level) – from the Sevastopol Aquarium Museum,
- “Reconstruction of historical space” (advanced level) – from the Fedyukhin Heights living history park.
For two days, the teams worked on their projects and created worlds in virtual and augmented reality.
In addition to completing the main task, the guys took part in an entertainment program: they played board games, completed a quest about robots, traveled to Elbrus using VR glasses, tried their luck in the lottery and relaxed dancing.
At the end of the second day, the teams had to defend their projects in front of the jury. The hackathon experts were specialists in game development and AR/VR applications: Vasily Petrakov, Dmitry Kutsenko and Ivan Kotovshchikov.
The winners of the VR/AR hackathon “Create Worlds” are:
Track «Flora and fauna of the Black Sea» (basic level) – command «CrashTeam» (Daniil Fedorovsky, Vladislav Mazurenko, Alexander Osipenko, mentor: Ekaterina Ponomareva)
Track «Reconstruction of historical space» (advanced level) – command «SyntaxError» (Marina Kutishcheva, Artyom Romanenko, Alexander Artemyev, mentor: Ekaterina Ponomareva)
The winners received diplomas from the organizers and gifts from the hackathon partners: Living History Park «Fedyukhin Heights», Sevastopol Aquarium-Museumproject «I’m flying over the world» And Federal Center for Additional Education and Organization of Recreation and Health Improvement for Children.
