The Main Investigation Department of the RF Investigative Committee for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has opened and is investigating a criminal case against a 67-year-old resident of the Dzhankoy district, suspected of violating traffic rules that negligently resulted in the death of a person, committed by a person deprived of the right to drive a car (clause “c”) » Part 4 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The Crimean Transport Investigation Department established that on the evening of May 1, a 67-year-old VAZ-2106 driver drove to the controlled railway crossing at Art. Bohemian, equipped with a traffic light and sound signal, collided with a freight train locomotive. The driver’s 43-year-old son died as a result of the incident. Currently, the driver himself, as well as his 42-year-old daughter-in-law and 6-year-old granddaughter are in hospital in extremely serious condition.
It was established that in February of this year the driver was deprived of the right to drive vehicles due to being drunk behind the wheel.— reported in Sledkom.
The investigator conducted a thorough inspection of the scene of the tragedy and ordered all the necessary examinations. The criminal investigation continues.
