The IV pedagogical forum “Quality education — a step into the future” was held at the Korsun children’s center (Sevastopol branch of Artek). The theme of the forum is “Regional component of the educational system for the preservation and strengthening of traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.”

Representatives of the Artek IDC, the Simferopol and Crimean Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the Republic of Crimea, the Department of Education and Science of the city of Sevastopol, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, the Crimean Republican Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education and other educational organizations.

Also participating in the forum were heads of municipal education authorities, heads of municipal methodological services (centers), members of the Council of Heads of Educational Organizations under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea and the Council of Heads of Educational Organizations of the city of Sevastopol and other specialists. Among the guests of the forum are educational advisers who are undergoing training at Artek.

The conversation about the regional component of the educational system is very important and relevant, says Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimea Tikhon (Shevkunov). He especially noted the role of Artek in preserving the best traditions of education:

In the 90s, education in schools was abolished. You could say it was a mistake. If you take away the ideology, the experience of being raised in a Soviet school is amazing. The most important and best ideological basic values ​​were instilled in children. Now education is returning to schools. It was in the pre-revolutionary school and in the best times of the Soviet school. Artek has retained this experience. Honor and praise to him. It is Artek that trains advisors to school directors in education. Much remains to be done, but a start has been made. Low bow to Artek and the Ministry of Education for this matter. The role of “Artek” in this situation is state-forming in the sphere of educating the younger generation.

As part of the forum, Vladyka Tikhon told participants about the historical parks “Russia is my history,” specifically focusing on the regional component in the exhibition of parks throughout Russia.

Welcoming the participants of the event, Deputy Governor of the city of Sevastopol Igor Mikheev noted:

The issue of education is particularly relevant for the entire social sphere. A lot has been done on this issue. Our educational advisers to school directors were trained at the Artek International Children’s Center, which is a methodological training ground for our advisers, teachers, and counselors. Today we will discuss issues of the regional component of education, spiritual and moral development, share experiences and define plans.

The value of such a forum lies in the fact that it is organized by three educational entities: the Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and the Artek International Children’s Center. The Minister of Education, Science and Youth of the Republic of Crimea Valentina Lavrik spoke about this:

We must exchange experiences, take everything positive from the experience of each subject. We propose to create a working group that will conduct an analysis, determine what we are doing and what problems there are. Taking these problems into account, we will form a conceptual program, discuss it, and from September 1, we will leave in the educational process what is beneficial.
